All the 150 thousand Arabica coffee bags of 60 kg offered at the public auction of Conab (National Supply Company) held on the morning of this Thursday (9) were sold. The initial prices established by the Company, depending on the lot, were R $ 396.00 and R $ 452.66 a bag, without ICMS included.

Foram arrematadas todas as 150 mil sacas de 60 kg de café arábica ofertadas no leilão público da Conab (Companhia Nacional de Abastecimento) realizado na manhã desta quinta-feira (9) (aviso nº 028/2017). Os preços iniciais estabelecidos pela Companhia, dependendo do lote, foram de R$ 396,00 e R$ 452,66 a saca, sem ICMS incluso.

Embora rumores sobre a liberação da importação do café Robusta tenha tomado o mercado ontem, a decisão irá demorar um pouco mais.

O Ministro Blairo Maggi (Agricultura, Pecuária e Abastecimento) vai adiar por mais alguns dias a decisão sobre a importação de café robusta. Após mais de uma hora de reunião com a bancada federal do Espírito Santo e com produtores de café do estado, o ministro deu um prazo para que eles apresentem, até o fim desta semana, um relatório apontando quais os municípios e os armazéns onde estão os quatro milhões de sacas de café conilon, que garantem ter em estoque.

Motivos da possibilidade de importar o café Robusta.

De acordo com números da Conab, existe um deficit de 1,274 milhão de sacas para atender à indústria brasileira. A proposta do governo é liberar a importação de um milhão de sacas, com distribuição mensal de 250 mil sacas de fevereiro a maio. Para isso, o café seria incluído na lista de exceção da TEC Tarifa Externa Comum), até o limite de um milhão de sacas, com alíquota de 2%. Acima desse limite, a alíquota de exportação, que hoje é de 10%, sobe para 35%.

O ministro da agricultura, Blairo Maggi, afirmou que ele e sua equipe estão convencidos da necessidade de importação de café robusta nesta safra no Brasil, mas que a medida deverá ser feita de forma temporária e em volume específico a ser definido. O documento de autorização, inclusive, já está pronto e o pedido à Camex (Câmara de Comércio Exterior), órgão do Ministério do Desenvolvimento, pode ser feito ainda nesta semana. A agência de notícias internacionais Bloomberg afirma que isso pode ocorrer já nesta terça-feira (7).

Nesta terça-feira (7), deve haver uma nova reunião do ministro com o setor produtivo para que o assunto seja mais uma vez debatido. O encontro foi um pedido do presidente Michel Temer, que solicitou na semana passada a Maggi “muita calma” ao tratar do assunto. Segundo o ministro, em entrevista à Reuters na última sexta-feira (3), essa é uma decisão que pode criar arestas políticas, por isso o cuidado de Temer com o assunto.

Robusta coffee prices have fallen in the domestic market, despite the low supply of the variety. The pressure comes from the absence of buyers in the market, from both industries and exporters. Foram embarcadas 27.485,2 mil de sacas de janeiro a novembro deste ano, ante 30.440,5 mil de sacas no mesmo período de 2015. A receita cambial apresentou queda de 15,58%. O País faturou US$ 4.310,3 milhão, em comparação com US$ 5.106,0 milhão nos primeiros 11 meses de 2015.

To diminish the lack of Robusta and as a consequence the increase in demand for Arabica, the Brazilian government has held 24 auctions since January this year, in which it already settled over 500,000 Arabica coffee bags from a stock of 1.25 million bags. According to analysis of Carvalhaes Office, the Brazilian public stock is already below a million bags and it is likely to finish this year.

 

Para contornar a escassez de robusta e o consequente aumento da demanda pelo arábica, o governo brasileiro já realizou 24 leilões desde janeiro deste ano, nos quais já liquidou mais de 500 mil sacas de café arábica de um estoque de 1,25 milhão de sacas.� Segundo análise do Escritório Carvalhaes, os estoques públicos brasileiros já estão abaixo de um milhão de sacas e terminarão ainda neste ano-safra.
